Tend your own garden

What are you sitting on?

This 1st quarter of 2021 has been filled with some beautifully connective heart to heart conversations which has highlighted that we, men and women, tend to sit on, push down, swallow the things that have affected us emotionally over a course of years and if we’re not careful to tend to our own gardens, will subconsciously ruminate on and allow small seeds to plant of insecurity, guilt, anger, anxiety, self-loathing (to name a few) to grow over time into a massive and deeply routed toxic and blackened tree in our soul that will drain the essence and lifelight right out of us

At the start of covid and lockdown a year ago, whilst alot of people where saying the virus has “come to cleanse” our planet and others concerned for the economic longevity of our country (side bar: I do NOT detract from anyone’s views or struggles here as we all have our stories and rowed our own boats through this insane storm, me included!) my BIGGEST concern from the get-go was the emotional and psychological fall-out of isolation and the halt of everything community-based; us out of church, out of office, out of school, alone, isolated….why? Because I know in my own life, it took years for me to enjoy, scratch that, LOVE and treasure my own company, I busied myself to the brink of exhaustion rather than be alone too long and have to face what my soul needed me to, and when I eventually literally sat down with all the feelings I’d be sitting on for so long, it was messy, it was raw, it was hard, which I’m sure I’ve written about in a prior post, BUT it was like someone had turned on all the lights, now my me time is a place I look forward, I no longer run from it but rather delight in it as…

I choose not to sit on any emotional attachment to interactions that might have more to do about you then me, I choose not to take it personally as when you choose to tend to your own garden, friend, you give me permission to tend to mine 🤗
